Feelings, Stress, and Coping of Nurses Amidst COVID-19 Outbreak in Saudi Arabia

Background: A year after the COVID-19 pandemic spread around world, is still affecting healthcare systems with an increasing number of infected workers. Such a unique situation may often result in emotional turmoil, anxiety, depression, and fear, which could lead to resignation burnout. The study intended assess feelings nurses toward outbreak; ascertain factors that cause stress; determine their coping strategies contributing coping.
 Methods: descriptive cross-sectional design was utilized recruit 313 working Ministry Health (Saudi Arabia) hospitals accommodate patients. instrument adapted modified from ”MERS-CoV Staff Questionnaire” Brief COPE.
 Results: results showed female, married, those bachelor’s degree, aged 25–34 years had higher significant strategies. On other hand, Filipino assigned Outpatient Department Isolation Ward more negative encountered several causing stress but were better way than others.
 Conclusion: Nurses’ commitment profession appears be intrinsic motivation continue caring for patients despite risk infection. Comfort religion, spiritual beliefs, presence support system used by ameliorate during outbreak.
